I have tried massage, physio, acupuncture and cupping for my back pain. My doctor has just been prescribing pain killers. I am only 26 years old and Im petrified I am going to have back pain for the rest of my life. I work in disability services and support clients with disabilities and it is very physic work. Please help me.
You need to go easy on your back & let it recover as best it can until & unless you dr. decides you need surgery. Surgery should be a last resort as any surgery carries a risk of exacerbating the problem & death. So take it easy, use anti-inflammatories & the pain killers. Pamper your back. Get your doctor to write a work limit–like you can’t lift over 20 lbs for the next 2 weeks or you can’t do a lot of bending, etc. You might need bed rest for a few days. Talk to your doctor if your work causes you pain or distress.
Our spines are incredibly strong & our body really does heal itself many times because it WANTS to be healthy! Just give it time.
Others have said chiropractor–yes, they can be a great relief & heal/cure our bodies too, but it takes weeks or months for improvement. You’re going to be fine, just be patient!
